With over 30 years of experience, Mega Broker James Mattz is seen as one of the most successful leaders in the Real Estate Industry. He leads a dynamic team of sales and support staff in executing results for seller and buyer consumers in the Chicagoland area.

James’ sales production is legendary, being involved in over 4,000 real estate sales transactions and receiving numerous awards including Century 21 Master’s Hall of Fame Award, Centurion Award, Double Centurion Award, and the acclaimed, Grand Centurion Award.

James Mattz is a highly sought after speaker, mentor, and consultant in sales training and skill enhancement. He honed his expertise during this time at Xerox Corporation and Computer Vision, an IBM Company. He services as an Executive Committee and Chair Member for CEDA and United Way. He has also served as a State of Illinois Commissioner for Metropolitan Junior Baseball League (MJBL) and has assisted many young men in obtaining scholarships to play college baseball, including his son, Chretien who was All Conference for the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff and was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 2011 MLB Draft.

A graduate and former goalie of the Bronco hockey team of the University of Western Michigan, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration while majoring in Marketing with a minor in Economics.

He is the proud parent to four children; Chretien, Mercedes, Savyon, and Gabryella. He has also recently been promoted to Grandfather to his first grand son, CJ. Along with his first grand daughter Samaya.

Office Manager

Shelly joined The Mattz Group in early 2020 as our Office Manager. She is a dedicated resource for you, and will be in communication with you throughout the listing process, all the way to the closing table. We are committed to exceeding your expectations and ensuring you always get the attention you need and deserve. Shelly is an accomplished licensed real estate broker in California and is perusing her Illinois broker license.

Broker Specialist

Chre’tien joined the Mattz Mega Group as a Buyer Specialist in 2016. Prior to joining, Chre’tien received his Bachelors Degree at the University of Arkansas and was soon drafted to play baseball professionally for the Detroit Tigers. After his baseball career he quickly gained a passion for real estate, and became an extremely seasoned Realtor. Chre’tien believes in giving the highest quality service as your preferred Buyer Specialist. He is well-versed in investment properties and specializes in single family, town homes, and condo properties.

Broker Specialist

Laura Forte joined the Mattz Mega Group in August 2019 as a Buyer Specialist and is more than capable and qualified to assist clients with finding the right home. Prior to joining Keller Williams Preferred Realty in 2015 as a new agent, Laura was employed by a government affiliated company for over 30 years in Customer Service and Sales. Her background in customer service, unique listening skills and understanding the needs of every client affords her the opportunity to provide housing solutions to those who have a desire to buy, sell or invest in real estate. She has worked with First-Time home buyers, Short Sales and Investors on the South side of Chicago and the South Suburbs. Laura studied Business and Marketing at Roosevelt University and is passionate about those she serve. In her spare time she loves attending church, spending quality time with family, reading and traveling.

Director of Operations

Stephen joined The Mattz Group in early 2019 as our Director of Operations. Born and raised in the South Suburbs of Chicago, Stephen attended Homewood-Flossmoor High School and then Received a Degree in Latin American History and a Minor in Spanish from Tulane University in New Orleans. While at Tulane he had the good fortune to do an internship for the City of New Orleans’ Department of International Trade. Post College, Stephen joined the family supermarket business in South Chicago started by his grandfather, and succeeded by his father. He flourished as a leader and increased sales and profits to a point that the family was approached by a major chain that bought the store. Stephen’s past has had a huge impact on his customer service, marketing, and sales skills. As a new Realtor in 2002, he used his professional background along with hiring the top Real Estate training company in the country to ensure his success in helping his Real Estate Clientele. Stephen joined Keller Williams Preferred Realty in 2009 as a residential and commercial broker. In 2014, he accepted the position of Productivity Coach. He quickly grew the program from 25 agents to well over 100, helping KW associates with their skills, models, and businesses. Stephen enjoys mentoring the team sales and administrative departments to ensure all our clients receive The Mattz VIP.

Teira is a Buyer Specialist with the Mattz Group who joined the team in 2019. Teira is a lifelong Chicago native and her knowledge of the market gives her buyers the necessary confidence with their home purchases. Teira studied psychology in college, giving her that special insightful personality that aids her in understanding her client’s needs and desired home features.
